My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Was the book different from what you expected? I was pleasantly surprised at how good this book was.

What was the book's central question? The central question, is time travel possible?

From whose point of view is the story told? From Charlie's point of view.

Which secondary character resonated most with you and why? Nancy, she wasn't really described, but she played a very important part in keeping Billy safe.

Review: Lethal Circuit by Lars Guignard

Lethal Circuit (Michael Chase, #1)Lethal Circuit by Lars Guignard
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What were the main themes of the book? Mystery and adventure. Most of these were executed well but there were some inaccuracies especially where the MI6 was concerned. It was written in a very textbook manner and could have been better.

Were you able to connect with the main character and why? I liked Michael Chase and wanted to know more about his adventure and how things would end up for him.

Which did you find more appealing, the introduction or the conclusion? I liked the build up in the introduction. A lot of us at the book club felt that the action dwindled in some parts of the book and then picked up again towards the end.

Review: Adrift in the Sound by Kate Campbell

Adrift in the Sound Adrift in the Sound by Kate Campbell
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What were the main themes of the book? Culture, family and friends. Kate Campbell uses the Orcas Island and its people to expand the story and raise some thought provoking questions. Lizette's family life ties in with her present reclusive behaviour. She seems so withdrawn from people and yet so engrossed in her work. Lastly, Lizette's friends and people around her are stark contrasts to her. Her interactions with each of them are rather entertaining and the story flows in a descriptive way that I liked.

Were you able to connect with the main character and why? Not really, this was in a different time and era I have never experienced. I understood the emotions and motivations but found it difficult to relate to the settings. Because of this, it wasn't as easy as I would have liked to connect with the main character.

Which did you find more appealing, the introduction or the conclusion? When my book club members and I discussed this, it was a split. Quite a few of us chose the introduction and others chose the conclusion. I'm still torn between the two. The introduction has history, the ending has resolution.
