The Photo Traveler by Arthur J. Gonzalez
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
More than one scene in the book made me think of my own family and if anything that is the best part of the way it is written. The author's words are dripping with emotion so you cannot help but feel for and with the characters.
The editing is another story. While the book has been checked for spelling errors, it has definitely not been edited properly. Text repetition, punctuation errors, timeline confusion, plot points that sometimes do not connect are just some of the few things that made me take off a star which is a shame really. I liked the originality and the characters were quirky, dysfunctional enough to be my own family.
"I jump into their arms feeling the most warmth I’ve felt in the last several hours. Knowing I’ve found them and that they’re safe shields me from the reality of the frostbite that’s been taunting my fingers and toes." This was my favourite quote, it brings to mind the feeling we all have for some warmth and love. Recommended but only if you are fine with a few bumps.
