Date with the Dead by Chris Myers
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
"I didn't realise that having friends meant acting stupid." It is precisely this social awkwardness that Jolie displays which makes her a magnet for young adult readers and which displays the skill of Chris Myers to produce believable, fun characters. It had suspense, drama and entertainment. Everything one needs for a good book.
Date with the Dead has an original plot led by this young crew of investigators. More than one time you become suspicious of who the murderer is which makes the ending even more epic.
This is the second book I am reading by the same author and I can tell you she never fails to bring interesting to the table. I previously read Lennon's Rain #1 and although I did not carry on with book #2, I appreciate her quirky characters and her smooth presentation of them. Will definitely be picking up other books by this author.
